Low-carb wings inspired by Japanese flavours and techniques!

Chicken Wings Yakitori in a Togarashi Butter


  • 1 to 2 lbs chicken drumsticks

  • 2 Tsp Sesame Oil

  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos

  • 3 Tbsp Butter

  • 1 Spring Onion

  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder (Crisps the skin)


  1. Pat chicken dry and add to a gallon bag with the sesame oil, soy sauce and Togarashi seasoning

  2. Seal bag and toss chicken to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 45 min

  3. Add baking powder to bag right before cooking and toss again.

  4. Preheat air fryer to 400 F

  5. Spray air fryer with avocado oil, and cook chicken for 10 min at 400 F in air fryer, flip and then cook another 10 minutes

  6. While chicken is cooking, in a sauce pan melt 3 to 4 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp Togarashi seasoning, and green onion, summer until onions soften and butter is starting to darken

  7. Add cooked drumsticks to a bowl, and pour sauce over and toss to coat. Add additional green onion for garnish.
